About Our Head Coach: Jason Block

Coach Block served as the Defensive Coordinator for the 2014 7th Grade Jr. Raider team and is thrilled to return this season as the team’s Head Coach to build on the team’s past success and prepare players for a high school varsity career.  Coach Block has been an active youth sports coach for many seasons across a variety of sports.  He played football in high school for Shorecrest Prep (St. Petersburg, FL) on the defensive and offensive line as four year starter on perennial playoff teams, including two back-to-back undefeated seasons.  Coach Block then played in college at the University of Richmond (Division I-AA, now called FCS).  While at Richmond, he played with several players who went on to successful NFL careers and played for a fantastic group of coaches who are now coaching major Division I programs or in the NFL.  He brings the lessons and techniques learned from these excellent teammates and coaches to our Jr. Raider players.  Coach Block has a wonderful wife, Jillian, and three daughters, Bella (10), Becca (8), and Bria (5) who love to come and support the Jr. Raider Football program.

Coach Block’s football philosophy is focused on fun and positive reinforcement, while teaching the important life skills of responsibility, teamwork, and developing a great work ethic and a winning attitude.

Assistant Coaching Staff:

Four of the Jr. Raider 8th grade coaches have college football playing experience and all have at least one season of football coaching experience (and some have many, many more).  This group of dedicated volunteers is committed to giving the Jr. Raider players the best possible experience playing the game of football and they are excited to bring their experience and passion for the game to work with these young student-athletes to help them become the best players they can be.
