Welcome to 8th Grade Jr. Raider Football
I’ve been coaching youth football for over 20 years. It started when my two sons where playing youth football. Since then, I have served as VP at Kennesaw Youth Football program, then went on to start the Allatoona Youth Football and Cheer program. After moving to Roswell and started working in Norcross, I have coached at Kell, Johns Creek, and Alpharetta for the last 2
years. I have coached from 3rd grade all the way to 8th grade. I have had the privilege to work with many mentors during this time and I constantly learn as much as I teach. My philosophy is not so much focused on winning football games, but to teach young men and prepare them for the next level of life. I feel if we focus on what really matters, winning will come naturally.
WE WILL HAVE A GAME ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND AND ALL PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE.
We will have two teams just as we did last year. We will discuss the two team system at the parent meeting.
Each player should have received his equipment. Players need to buy a chin strap, mouth piece, girdle and cleats. Players should make all equipment adjustments (e.g., adjusting their chin strap) prior to the start of practice.
Practice will start late July and be held at Alpharetta High School (AHS) on the main football field. Practices will be held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. All practices will be in full pads unless communicated otherwise.
Please make sure players bring plenty of water to all practices.
We are guests at AHS. Occasionally, we may have changes to our practice schedule based on AHS events. We will communicate any changes as soon as they become known to us. Players should be dressed and ready to start practice promptly at 7:00pm. If a player will be late to practice or not be able to attend practice, Please notify Coach Alexander prior to practice.
